Longview Community Ministries

LCM provides free basic life and job skill training classes as well as their Learning Lab to guide and teach clients healthy life skills, computer skills, and money management.

Longview Public Library

The Library offers free computer classes. Do you need to brush up on your Microsoft Office skills? Longview Public Library has free classes to help with that! Registration is required so be sure to let them know you're planning to be there. Check the out their calendar for upcoming classes and call (903) 237-1350 to save your place in class.

Workforce Solutions East Texas

There are workshops held occasionally, free of charge, for individuals seeking to enhance their skills and improve their performance. Our Resource Rooms are fully equipped to assist job seekers in their search for employment opportunities with internet access, copiers, fax machines and telephones for job search purposes, free of charge.

Kilgore College Adult Education

Kilgore College offers a full range of free Adult Education & Literacy services to help you improve your life with caring instructors to help you learn.

Programs Offered:

  • GED Preparation and Testing: Prepare to pass the exam for the GED (General Educational Development) diploma, the equivalent to a credential for high school completion.
  • Literacy, Basic Skills, and Exam Preparation: Improve your reading, writing and math skills regardless of whether you do or do not have a high school credential. Prepare for pre-employment, college entrance, military entrance or other pre-college level exams.
  • ESL (Learn English): Acquire and/or improve your reading, writing and speaking skills if your primary language is not English and your skills are below the level to function effectively in English.
  • Intensive College Readiness Program: A special program of study developed specifically for non-traditional students who have never attended college. Individuals who recently completed a GED or who earned a high school diploma at least four years ago may qualify.

East Texas Literacy Council

ETLC provides a variety of services to enable adult learners to achieve personal goals and self-sufficiency through literacy.

Free one-to-one and small group instruction are offered to adults and out of school youth who need basic literacy skills (reading, math, writing, and pre-GED), and English as a Second Language (ESL) skills.  Our computer learning labs offer individualized instruction in basic literacy and ESL.
